Evolution without privacy is not encryption

Privacy is the spirit of encryption, and without that, nothing else we do.
If you care about financial sovereignty, you need privacy. If you are interested in coordinating with others to bring about social change, think freely, or build a more prosperous society, you need a free exchange of value. Freedom begins with privacy.
As engineers and scientists working on ZCash, we have spent years developing special financial tools that will be integrated into the future of civilization. It is not an exaggeration to say that our grandchildren either will live in a world that depends on the foundations that we build today, or we live in a world that we have neglected.
Zcash was the first encrypted currency to charge real and powerful privacy with zero knowledge evidence. Solving the problem of privacy with encryption was the first step only: we needed to repeat the encryption and improve it quickly so that it was practical to operate phones, and invest in a significant research that would make it possible to expand its scope. Today, our innovations sit in the heart of many decentralized protocols.
But although the path forward to expand the scope of private payments on the series is now clear, it has not dealt with any basic challenge project of limiting the special portfolios at the same time.
Most encrypted currency users will use wallet programs that depend on a distant server to enable sending and receiving payments. This helps in tackling scaling problems by paying the supply of the frequency range and mathematical burdens away from the user devices, but it comes at the expense of the user’s demand to abandon his privacy from remote services.
To make our critical project that preserves privacy is a reality, we need a user experience exactly like that that does not contain privacy at all.
The simplest solution is to use a strange encryption to enable servers to help our local wallet programs without revealing any special information. We have known that this is in theory, but until recently it seemed to be widely impractical – at least a decade of new science, or so we thought.
Enter Tachyon Project. Through the current encryption and some smart adjustments to the protocol, it is completely practical that the ZCASH Portfolio program is synchronized with a group of very active blocks by using external sources of expensive parts of unreliable third -party servers. The servers do not learn anything about your wallet and cannot even know the transactions that are compatible with their users.
Certainly the encryption needed to make this possible and developing is still not simple. Fortunately, ZCash has a long record of building and shipping this delicate type of advanced encryption. We have already put the way in some of our recent promotions, and with the Tachyon project, we plan to make rapid progress that publishes the remaining changes during the next year.
I am excited because we have such enthusiasm and strong alignment in the ZCash community to make it a reality. But I am also comfortable because we are able to meet the moment and build a very developed digital money and cannot be stopped. We have no time to wait for more research or scientific progress. Fortunately, with Tachyon, we can build and deliver today.
