Hackers coming from as legitimate information technology (IT) workers who have beenfiltrated web3 projects steal nearly $ 1 million in crypto last week, according to Onchain Inchain and Cybersecurity Investigator ZackXBT.
Many creatures have been affected including FAVRR, a web3 fan-token marketplace, non-fungible token (NFT) project of Replicandy and Chainaw, along with other teams not named OnChain Sleuth on his Friday X Post.
Hackers have taken advantage of the mininting mechanism for NFT projects, the volume of NFTs, selling them, and causing the floor to fall to zero as they pick up the income, Zackxbt said.
Following the exploits, threat actors moved the stolen funds through exchanges and multiple wallets. Funds from the chainsaw hack “most remain dormant,” while stolen crypto from FAVRR has moved to nested services, the Onchain detective said.
