CoindCX staff arrested more than $ 44M crypto robbery: Report


An employee of the CoindCX, a cryptocurrency exchange hacked $ 44 million in mid-July, was arrested in India in connection with a security violation, according to several local reports.

Bengaluru City Police have stopped COINDCX software engineer Rahul Agarwal after allegedly managing hackers to compromise his swinging credentials to kick the exchange ownership, the Times of India reported on Thursday.

The arrest followed a complaint and internal investigation by the CoindCX Neblio Technologies operator, which determined that Agarwal’s credentials were compromised by his laptop at work, allowing unauthorized access to company servers.

Agarwal’s professional background
