Crypting contexts steal 1.2 million dollars from UK residents using fake police reports

The codes stole more than a million British pounds ($ 1.2 million) from nine population in Kent, England, after reaching their personal information from data leakage.
On the first of March, the police urged the residents to be vigilant against attempts to fraud in the encrypted currency. Poor actors have reached the personal information of Kent residents and abusive use to create fake reports from the National Reports Center in the United Kingdom, work.
The police said: “The personal details were taken from data leakage and used to create fake reports.”
The fraudsters created fake reports and then put forward law enforcement to contact potential victims. The victims were informed that they were under investigation and would receive a call from the “encryption portfolio host”.

All the victims noticed that they had received a second call in which a “security officer” stressed them to share the phrases of the coding portfolio. The seeds are a group of 12 or 24 words that allow access to the encryption wallet.
“With this information, the fraudsters were able to rebuild the wallet, steal and transport money so that they could not be recovered,” I mentioned the police alert.

Detective Daril Bolson, a resident of Kent, requested not to give up personal information by phone to anyone who claims to be the police or an encryption host:
“The fraudsters are increasingly more accountable in their methods of defrauding their victims to lose a large amount of money, and they often make a urgency in the situation, such as telling them that they need to act now to prevent their money from stealing.”
Attempts to reduce the damage caused by data leakage
In total, the nine victims lost more than $ 1.2 million against the fraud caused by data leakage.
Polson also urged other victims to report fraud without embarrassment, adding that “it takes only a second to pay their attention and the victim of the fall.”
The encryption investors are advised not to share seed phrases with anyone because it will provide them with full access to money and the ability to transfer or withdraw from them as desired.
