South Korea prosecutors are looking for decades long sentences for man stabbed Haru Invest CEO

A South Korean man who attacked the CEO of the crumble Crypto firm, Haru Invest, is now faced with a potential decade behind the bars, According to local media reports.
Seoul prosecutors have requested a 10-year prison for a local media is only recognized by his last name Kang, Someone in his 50s stabbed Haru Invest CEO Lee Hyung-soo during a court hearing last year.
Haru Invest was silent in 2023citing partner issues, without providing a certain reason, before its executives was arrested in 2024 for allegedly stealing $ 828 million in customer funds.
Kang’s defense argued that he had no intention of killing, noting that he did not target a deadly place and acted in a moment of intense emotional anxiety after losing 100 BTC (worth $ 8.3 million) due to the collapse of Haru Invest.
His lawyers pushed for a reduced charge of aggravated attack rather than attempted murder, citing his intense financial and psychological difficulty.
At the forefront of the hearing, the local media reported that the Haru Invest Victims’ Association held a press conference demanding Kang’s release, focusing that victims of fraud like him were not treated fairly while executives accused of avoiding the road -millions of dollars to walk free.
Kang should return to court on April 4 for the occupation.
