Eigenlayer brings multichain AVS support to L2 networks

Eigenlayer has taken a step toward scaling decentralized infrastructure by rotating a multichein verification feature that allows decentralized services to run on layer-2 networks while maintaining Ethereum-Grade security.
On Thursday, eigenlayer introduced A protocol feature that provides to actively proven services (AV) running on the 2S layer, in addition to the Ethereum network. Eigen Labs launched the new feature on Sepolia Testnet on the base network.
Eigen Labs and CEO founders Sreeram Kannan told Cointelegraph that updating was marked by a “critical milestone” on the company’s roadmap. He said that while this feature launches at Base Sepolia, they plan to roll it out of further blockchains as soon as possible.
“The base has stood as our first partner because of the vigorous ecosystem of the builder and our mission to speed up the app layer,” he said, adding that they were working to support additional chains and plans to bring the feature to the main environments in the third quarter of 2025.

Kannan told Cointelegraph that this feature provides Eigencloud to fulfill its mission of the verification infrastructure everywhere. He said it needed AVs to meet developers in many chains, not just Ethereum Mainnet.
“To this day, AVS has to choose between the security or scale of Ethereum in faster, cheaper environments,” Kannan said. “In multi-chain verification, they don’t have to choose.”
The system ensures that AVSS is deployed to other blockchains inherited security eigenlayer. Validator data, such as stake weights, operators’ adjustments and collapse of penalties, are automatically located on all supported chains.
The fall refers to Punish validators acting maliciously or mistaken, while the weight of the stake determines how much crypto of a validator stuck.

Blockchain networks pushed infrastructure upgrades
The new Eigenlayer upgrade came as networks moved to enhance technical capabilities.
On Thursday, the Hybrid Blockchain builds on Bitcoin Roll a technical upgrade That became closer to obtaining a fully decentralized mark on the L2Beat platform. The network has implemented zero-knowledge (ZK) proof fraud within an optimistic rollup outline.
Meanwhile, the Ethereum Foundation has set a timeline for ZKEVM implementation on Mainnet Within a year. On July 10, the foundation laid a path to changing the traditional implementation of the block to the ZK-Proofs.
