Bitcoin Mining firm Bitdeer Technologies (BTDR) jumped 30% on Wednesday after announcing new steps to quickly monitor its expansion in high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
The company based in Singapore Says It directly manages the development of its own AI data centers instead of relying on outside partners, starting its facility in Clarington, Ohio. Bitdeer said the local utility confirmed that all 570 megawatts (MW) of the electrical capacity were available at the end of the third quarter of 2026, almost a year earlier on the schedule.
Two other sites – Tydal in Norway and Wenatchee, Washington in the US – will also be converted, with Tydal who will support 164 MW of AI computing later next year, the company said.
The company said it sees a “prolonged imbalance” between the demand and supply of AI computing power. The firm expects to deploy more than 200 MW for AI computing by the end of next year. In an optimistic scenario, Bitdeer said AI operations could produce more than $ 2 billion in annual income.
“This push is driven by a marked increase in incoming interest in our power assets, which has become a powerful catalyst in expanding our efforts,” Matt Kong, chief business official in the Bitdeer, said in a statement.
The company’s sharing rose 30% in the first minutes of Wednesday’s session, trading above $ 26 in the first time since early January. They are higher at the time of press.
Bitdeer development fits into a broader trend of crypto mining companies pivoting to restore their computing strength for rapid growth of AI demand. Miners like BitFarms, Iren, Terawulf have become investors’ favorites as proxies that bet infrastructure and AI’s optimization that they will strike the benefits of dating data center deals.
