Bitopro confirms the $ 11M hack, Taiwan Crypto Exchange said to be -replenished lost funding

Taiwan confirmed that Crypto Exchange Bitopro in CoinDesk confirmed that it suffered a cyberattack in an old hot purse in May, resulting in losses of more than $ 11 million.
The company said it immediately filled the stolen funds and moved the property to new wallets to prevent further losses.
The breach, which occurred on May 8 during the upgrading of the purse system, was first to -flag of Blockchain Sleuth Zachxbt. He announced that the stolen funds had been laundered by decentralized exchanges and privacy protocols before depositing in Wasabi Wallet, a popular bitcoin mixer.
“Bitopro recently experienced a cyberattack in an old hot purse during upgrading the purse system,” the exchange was shared with CoinDesk. “In the discovery, we quickly launched an emergency response, securing the property by moving them to new wallets and blocking the attack.”
The company emphasized that user ownership will not be affected, with all deposits, backwardness, and trading operating functioning that are constantly normal.
“Bitopro virtual assets are sufficient, and user assets will remain completely unaffected,” a spokesman added.
The exchange said it was working at a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate the hack and will soon publish new hot wallet addresses to improve transparency. It added that most of its properties will be held in offline cold wallets to protect against similar future incidents.
Bitopro, run by Bitogroup, has served in the Taiwan crypto market since 2018. It supports major cryptocurrencies paired with Taiwanese dollars and processed more than $ 20 million in trading volume over the past 24 hours, according to the data.
