Building confidence in encryption: dismissing realization from reality

Crypto often publishes the headlines of the prevailing newspapers for wrong reasons, but under the surface the story of innovation, flexibility and society that works to build a safer financial future lies.
This week’s episode of Clear Crypto Podcast, which was presented to you by Starkware and Cointelegraph, meets a closer look at one of the most urgent issues, and its misunderstanding, in digital assets: crime in the ecosystem for encryption.
Reality examination of encryption crime
While the main headlines often bind Blockchain to breakthroughs, fraud and fraud, the reality is more complex.
Ary Redbord, head of global policy at TRM LABS and former general prosecutor of the United States, joined the host Nathan to cut the cognition gap.
He said: “The truth is that we have seen a real activity for fraud in the ecosystem for encryption over the past two years, about 50 billion fraud and fraud.”
“But the illegal activity still constitutes about 1 % of all activities within the ecosystem for encryption. So we are talking about 99 % legal activity.”
For redbord, ready -made meals are clear: encryption is not defective by its nature, but like any transformative technique, it attracts opportunistic actors.

He said: “Poor actors are always an early adoption of transformational technology, cryptocurrency and Blockchain are only.” “The promise of the cryptocurrency is to transfer value across the border at the speed of the Internet … but you know who loves the last transfer of money faster and in the largest amounts are bad actors.”
However, the same transparency that allows illegal use gives investigators strong tools. Emphasized:
“Every treatment can be tracked, tracked, and not changeable to the general professor’s book. This means that we can do compliance. We can do the investigations better than we could have before.”
Privacy, security and innovation
The discussion also explored how privacy and security can coexist through innovation. Redbord referred to “Zero Evidence, about Privacy Concues, about digital identity” as examples of technologies.
He said that the ZK-PROBLIVES “allows us to thread this needle between ensuring that legal users have this technology with the privacy they need, but also stops bad actors such as North Korea that threatens the ecosystem.”
Despite the challenges, Redbord stressed optimism:
“What makes me very positive is the people I interact with every day … This amazing community of specialists in compliance and law enforcement and builders.”
