Craig Wright sent enemies to the legal ‘hell,’ the judge said in suppressing order

A British High Court has issued a restraining order against computer scientist Craig Wright, which prevents him from filing additional demands in the defamation.

On one May 12 judgmentHigh Court Judge Edward Mellor said Wright’s repeated incorrect claims and aggressive legal action created a legal “hell” for individuals and developers in Bitcoin (Btc) community, adding that Wright sought “weapons of legal systems” to scare and silence critics.

His demands forced people to be expensive and hourly legal defenses, often based on evidence evidence, the judge added as he gave a general order of civil restraint or behavior against Wright, which forbid him to file any more civil claims or applications to the high court.

The court featured how this approach is part of a pattern of abuse of the legal system to assert false claims of being Satoshi Nakamoto.

“Obviously Dr Wright has a huge financial support from the start of his campaign, and his claims to defamation are intentionally uneven battles,” Judge Mellor said.

The Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) brought claims in 2021, seeking negative expressions and injections due to threats Wright made against its members, along with crypto blogger Peter McCormack and Magnus Granath (AKA Hodlonaut).

His defamation says “every person is put in five years of personal hell,” Mellor wrote, adding that the allegations were “part of a deliberate approach in which Dr Wright and his supporters sought to promote the claim (that Dr Wright was satoshi) of uneven contests.”

Copa is a nonprofit community formed to encourage the adoption and promotion of crypto technologies and eliminate patents as a hindrance to change.
