Dubai’s Emirates Airline explores cryptocurrency payments along with Crypto.com cooperation
Dubai -based Emirates have opened plans to introduce cryptocurrency payments for its customers as part of an initial deal with Digital Asset Exchange Crypto.com, companies said Wednesday.
The parties have signed a Understanding Memorandum (MOU) To explore the integration of Crypto.com pay on Emirates’ payment systems, with plans to release the feature next year. If completed, it will make Emirates one of the first major global carriers to support crypto as a payment option.
Emirates Deputy President and CCO Adnan Kazim said the move is part of a broader approach to “meet emerging customer preferences” and “tapping younger, tech-savvy customer segments that prefer digital currencies” for payments.
Crypto.com, a Singapore -based crypto exchange with over 80 million users worldwide, is running a crypto.com payment service to pay in select markets. Service allows customers to make purchases using popular cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin

Emirates’ announcement came to the middle of Dubai’s ambition to position itself as a global crypto hub supported by a regulatory framework that attracts digital asset companies.
