Ethereum Foundation’s study finds psychology that drives momentum

A first-of-its-kind study of factors that influence Ethereum’s perception and momentum has found that psychology plays such an important role as others.

The results of the “Project Mirror,” an in -depth dive on Ethereum’s understanding of optimism and espresso, were shared by the Ethereum Foundation (EF) on Monday.

We3.co Researchers have found Valeria Salazar and Jill Gunter that understanding and psychology are pushing for a momentum as long as Technical and Main influence.

They found that while Ethereum is known for technical efficiency, it lacks the clarity of narration, active market relationships, and builder support – it hurts opportunities when builders choose where to build and invest.

The good interviews included 60 people throughout the Ethereum Ecosystem and the broader crypto community, which ran from March to June 2025. They label this period of Ethereum’s “worst crisis” due to price destruction and a leadership struggle.

Researchers searched for a snapshot on how the community viewed Ethereum at that time, as the property was exchanged at bear market levels between $ 1,600 and $ 2,500, reaching a three-year-old man in April.

The goal is to “understand how different audiences look at Ethereum, recognize challenges and strengths, and reflect those who return to the ecosystem so we can learn from them,” Nakasa said The EF.

Five basic tension

Research identified five major issues that influence Ethereum’s understanding. Many of these are associated with the so-called Ethereum narrative and how the Ethereum Foundation communicates publicly.

“If there is no price momentum or a simple story, Ethereum’s sophisticated perspective feels brilliant but unread Layer-2s Get users and activities.

Researchers do not suggest any solutions, but suggested starting discussions about how Ethereum’s leadership can redefine, or how ecosystem can measure success beyond the price of ETH.

This includes support for developers and builders, how to lead with confidence without compromising neutrality, and how to communicate a clear, compelling vision without disturbing technicalities.

The price is still the main narrative driver

Although Ethereum sends the long -term roadmap, “the flat price of ETH sends a different message,” the researchers found.

“In Crypto, the price is a narrative, and a flatline is interpreted as a disadvantage.”

When tokens tied to newer ecosystems advance, they form momentum and attract capital, talent, and attention, they say before ending:

“Ethereum’s bases may be fine, but without price movement, that strength is fading in the background.”

Momentum has recently moved in, with Ether (Eth) reaching a new all-time high of $ 4,950 on August 24, so some of the negative perception may develop.
