Apple considers developing AI for custom chip design

Tech Giant Apple Inc. has been reported to be considering the use of artificial intelligence to help accelerate the design of custom chips that empower its devices.
In a speech last month at the ITF World Conference in Belgium, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware technologies, Johny Srouji, said one of the key lessons learned by the firm that it needs to use the most cut-edge tools available to design chips, Reuters reported On Thursday, a video video was mentioned.
“EDA (Electronic Design Automation) companies are extremely critical to supporting our complex chip designs,” Srouji said. “Generative AI methods have high potential in getting more work design in less time, and it can be a major productivity strengthening.”
Two of the largest electronic designs of industry automation companies, Cadence and Synopsys design systems, are also looking to add AI to their offerings, the report mentioned.
In his speech, Srouji structured Apple’s The development of custom chips from the previous iPhone processors to the latest chips that the power of MAC Desktop computers and the vision pro -augment headset of reality.
Apple is already using AI
Srouji’s comments suggest that Apple wants to start using AI in the first time to do it faster for engineering teams to design chips. However, the Appleinsider reported That Apple has been using AI in its designs in some capacity for years.

Third-party companies use AI
Appleinsider reported that for many years, Apple has relied on third-party EDA companies, already with Leverage ai and machine study in chip design.
It added that synopies state That using generative AI can help create new ways to design chips, which rely on Apple.
Microsoft work cuts
Meanwhile, Reuters reported That giant software Microsoft is planning to cut thousands of jobs, especially sales, as the firm has been lining workers in the midst of increasing focus and investment in AI.
The company has accelerated investments in AI, aimed at maintaining its competitors in the fast industry, now seeing AI integrating products and services.
