Jury Convicts Ex-SafeMoon CEO on all charges

New York jury Braden John Karony, former CEO of CEO of cryptocurrency company SafeMoon, found three Felony charges after less than one day of the day -to -day.
According to May 21 Reporting From the court, in the US district court for the eastern New York district, a jury condemned Karony of Conspiracy to deceive the United States, laundering money and wire fraud. Prosecutors and lawyers of the defense presented their cases in a nearly two -week trial that kicked the jury on May 5.
Karony, former technology chief official Thomas Smith and Kyle Nagy, the creator of the platform, will be charged in 2023 for allegedly “transferred and unintentionally millions of dollar worth of SFM token of Safmoon. Smith testified against Karony in the trial, while Nagy was reported to flee to Russia and was huge on May 21.
The criminal trial involving a cryptocurrency company executive has seen many as a bell for how Joseph Noncella, the US lawyer for the district, will handle cases involving digital property and fraud. Nocella, an appointment of Donald Trump, was in office on May 5.

At the time of publication, it is unclear when Karony will return to court for the conclusion. He may face years in prison for his safemon fraud. Smith, who was reported to enter into a guilty plea as part of a deal with prosecutors, could receive a lighter sentence.
Karony’s trial followed a sentencing hearing for former Celius CEO Alex Mashinsky in the Southern District of New York, where a judge he was ordered in prison for 12 years after a guilty plea. Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, who demanded that he did not guilty and went to the trial, was punished 25 years after a 2023 verdict.
