Offline, Encrypted messaging inspired by Bitcoin

Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter (now x) and FINTECH COMPANY BLOCK (Sq)has published a WhitePaper for BitChat, a decentralized messaging protocol that gives us the fully -enlightened communication -without the internet.
Bitchat will operate over Bluetooth’s low energy (BLE)allowing neighboring devices to develop a mesh network indicating hop-by-hop messages, according to The Whitepaper published on Sunday.
When a message is sent, it travels to nearby devices that act as a temporary node until it reaches its recipient, making it resilient to offline or censored environment.
The messages are end-to-end encrypted using Curve25519 and AES-GCM, ensuring that only the intended recipient can read them. Protocol does not collect metadata, user identities are already -obfuscated and losing messages default after delivery unless the user has clearly saved.
While not producing explicit references to Bitcoin, cryptocurrency or blockchain, Dorsey described Bitchat as a “decentralized, peer-to-peer messaing application,” evoking connection to Bitcoin Whitepaper’s intro where it is described as a “peer-to-peer version of electronic cash.”
As Bitcoin has removed relying on centralized financial mediators, Bitchat can remove central authorities from digital communication.
