Pakistan Taps Surplus Power Capacity To Fuel Bitcoin Mining, AI Data Center



Pakistan has produced 2,000 megawatts of electricity in bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence data data, the country’s financial ministry said.

The acted energy is directed from coal -fired power plants that are currently running in 15% capacity, The Bloomberg reportat an initiative led by the Pakistan Crypto Council.

By taping excess energy, the government expects to be a responsibility to a property. Officials say the plan will create tech -related jobs and will help attract overseas capital as the country works to stabilize the fragile economy, which is close to the default in 2023.

Pakistan also places the basis for a regulatory framework to support approximately 15 to 20 million cryptocurrency users.
