The status unveils gasless layer 2 features in linea, ditches sequencer fees


Status, a decentralized communication project, has launched a feature that claims that the network is the first native Gasless Layer 2 to Consensys’ Linea Zkevm Stack.

Layer 2, called status network, will operate differently compared to conventional rollups that dependent on the fees in the following -following To stay floating, the status team said in a press release. The new L2, which has lived live with its testnet, removes transaction costs altogether and instead rewarded liquidity providers and builders with yield builders generated from bridged assets and folk app fees.

“We designed the status network so that developers could send games, seamless social experiences and defi protocols without forcing users to prest gas or builders to manage paymaster contracts,” said Cyprien Grau, the top status network, in a press release shared with CoinDesk. “Through the rehpothecating Ani-Bearing TVL and sharing every cent of the net yield in the community, we align incentives for all L2 stakeholders: Destructives are getting funds, LPs are getting sustainable return, and users get a truly free-to-play blockchain.”

According to the team, the approach of status converts bridged ETH and stablecoins to yield-bearing-like-like steth or SDAi-and channels income to support ecosystems, sidestepping order fees. This, the team argued, would set up a protocol for a self-sustaining loop with those looking to play Blockchain-based games: Gasless UX is attractive to users, deposits, and activities, which will grow folk produce and community incentives.

“With fees replaced by folk yield, users can interact with apps without having to try tokens or top up gas, creating an inexperienced experience,” the team wrote in the press release.
