Spar Supermarket launched crypto payments at 300 stores in Switzerland

The Global Grocery Giant Spar enables Stablecoin and Cryptocurrency payments to its stores throughout Switzerland, which marked the company’s claim to be the first national control of digital asset payments in the retail sector.
The grocery chain cooperates with the Binance Pay and Swiss fintech firm DFX.swiss to allow customers to pay with more than 100 cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, according to a Thursday announcement shared with cointelegraph.
The service already lives in 100 spar stores and will expand at the rest of the locations in the coming months. A full -time controlout throughout the country’s spar network has no confirmed timeline, a Spar spokesperson said.
It marks the first whole country to pay Switzerland’s cryptocurrency to the retail sector. Growing up crypto adoption in giant retail such as Spar can inspire more basic trust in cryptocurrency payments.

While controlling the entire 300 Swiss stores has been scheduled for the “coming moon,” launching the entire spar network of the country has “no confirmed timeline,” a spokesman for DFX.Swiss told cointelegraph.
