Transferring bitcoin from Earth to Mars now is possible within three minutes

There seems to be a way to get Bitcoin from Earth to Mars for less than three minutes using available technology. We just need someone, or what, to receive it.
Late last month, tech businessman Jose E. Puente and his colleague Carlos Puente, published a white paper Unvealing the proof-of-transit timestamping-a concept he said in the cointelegraph was the missing piece needed to create a bitcoin interplanetary.
The concept suggests that when a Bitcoin user wants to send a Mars payment to the future, the transaction can jump from the user through various stations, such as ground antennas, satellites, or even a relay around the moon.
At each stop, the transaction is “stamped” before continuing until its destination is reached.
In a cointelegraph, Puente said that Pott served as a “receipt layer” on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network while using optical links built by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Elon Musk’s Starlink, or another satellite provider.
“Technology is essentially prepared. Once there is a solid link to Earth -mars, Pott can ride above, making Bitcoin’s first money to work cleanly throughout the planets,” he said.
“By limiting Mars’ level delays, we can run a convincing end-to-end demo today.”
When running and running, Puente said that lightning transfers of bitcoin could reach Mars for less than three minutes, or as long as 22 minutes in a worst case.
Responding to the two -week blackout of Mars in Mars that occurs every 26 or more months, Puente said a solution could be “deliberate route around the sun with relay satellites” to prevent blackout.
POTT is like the ordinary timestamping of Bitcoin except that it can be expanded to space and beyond, Puente explained.
“Imagine that 2050 and you’re sending money from Earth to your friend to Mars to help pay for their rent. Since the planets are so far away, the message has to go for a variety of stations.”
“With each stop, that station covers the message by the time it arrives and as soon as it leaves, like a passport stamped on every border of the crossing. By the time the message reaches Mars, you can look at all the stamps and see the exact path it took and when it moves.”
Puente said Pott could be evaluated today.
Bitcoin has made it to space
The concept generates the Blockstream work in December 2018, when it is Bitcoin connected to five satellites To make the Transactions to Outer Bitcoin possible. Then, in August 2020, SpaceChain completed its said the First transaction to bitcoin From the International Space Station, which shows that bitcoin (Btc) can be received away from the ground.

Of course, for a Bitcoin transaction to take place with Mars, someone – or an AI – had to be with it, and that has never happened. Landers, orbiter and rovers from NASA and other space agencies have explored Mars to this day.
There must be someone there who is willing to accept Bitcoin as well. Jeff Bezos established by the blue origin began to receive crypto – including bitcoin, ether (Eth), Solana (Sol), and tether of stablecoins (USDT) and USDC (USDC) – Last month, but so far they have just done it in the Kármán line, about 100 kilometers from Earth.
Musk also agrees that a standard money is required
Musk’s Spacex is looking to reach Mars by the end of 2026 with long-term ambition to produce a self-sustaining city there.
Like Puente, Musk admits that a standard money is required to interact between Earth and Mars. He used to be expressed concern Over the 10 -minute Bitcoin block, but there the Lightning Network is playing, Puente said.
“The PotT Plus Lightning provides the practical muscle requested for: local speed with global regulating work on the planets.”
After the first Bitcoin removal as a solution in January, he eventually agreed that interplanetary payments could be more feasible through the Lightning Network.

“If we are serious about a multi-planet civilization, we need an open, neutral financial base that does not depend on any single company, government, or land station,” Puente said, making his case for Bitcoin as the most appropriate interplanetary currency.
“That’s why we focus on Bitcoin as a shared standard and designed POTT as a practical way to move value to a wide distance while maintaining responsibility and individual agency.”
POTT was built for all planets
Puente noted that Pott was built to be planet-magnostic throughout a star’s residence, which means that “travel receipts” consisting of it can be reached from transactions sent to the moon or any other planet.
He said the research focuses only on Earth and Mars as it is the “clean time studying case.”
