UK Startup Optalysies DEBUTS BLOCKCHAIN-DEDICATED HARDWARE with full homomorphic encryption

Optalysys, a UK-based startup focused on safe computing, introduced what it is said to be the world’s first server for blockchains that can process data on scale without decrypting.
The firm’s lightlocker node is a server that uses Fully homomorphic encryption .
The past year has seen some companies raising money and Exploring FHE applications within the cryptocurrency space. Optalysys said its server hardware was developed in the goal for blocking the blockchain, and offers a cheaper alternative to costly and poor GPU-based systems, using 40% less energy.
Based on Leeds, England, Optalys were founded in 2013 by Dr. Nick New (CEO) and Robert Todd (CTO). The firm raised 21 million pounds ($ 28 million) series A in July 2023.
“For blockchain technologies adopted in size, infrastructure that supports confidential computing is important,” the CEO New said in a statement.
“Traditional hardware solutions for encrypted blockchain are costly and ineffective. Generally used chips are also not designed for the specific requirements of transaction processing,” newly added.
