UK trade groups urge Gov to add blockchain to US Tech Deal

The United Kingdom trade groups urged the UK government to include blockchain technology in collaboration with the “Tech Bridge” technology in the United States.
A dozen UK Trade groups that represent the finances, technology and industry of crypto have made a request in a joint letter that Cointelegraph saw and addressed UK business secretary Peter Kyle and economic secretary at Treasury Lucy Rigby.
According to the document, Ledger’s shared technology should be a “major strand” of the UK-US tech collaboration before the visit next week by US President Donald Trump.
The initiative follows Trump’s embrace of blockchain and cryptocurrencies technology during his second term in the White House. The letter read that “excluding digital assets from the UK-US tech bridge is a missed opportunity,” and added:
“It is dangerous to leave Britain on the sides while others – especially in the Middle East and Asia – continue to report standards that will shape the future of finance.”

“Next to other emerging technologies, it drives to the next generation of financial and infrastructure services – improving capital flows, facilitating faster and cheaper payments, driving efficiency and productivity, and expanding financial integration.”
Simon Jennings, Director of the UKCBC Executive, told Cointelegraph that the trade team would like to “establish a transatlantic corridor for payments to Stablecoins“Between the two countries. Other ambitions include joint support for” the tokenization of traditional financial instruments “and the development of” deep liquidity in transatlantic cryptoasset markets. “
Jennings said Trump confirmed his attendance, even with rumors the visit could be canceled or postponed because of Charlie Kirk’s funeral. Kirk is an ally of Trump and a conservative influencer who was killed in a debate earlier this week at a US university. He said:
“I acknowledge that this domestically tragedy is very important to him and the wider administration.”
