US North Korea IT Worker Crypto Fraud Ring


The Treasury of the United States has punished two people and four creatures involved in saying it was a North Korean’s IT worker that would enter crypto companies, aimed at taking advantage of them.

The Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Says On Tuesday that allowed North Korean -based song Kum Hyok for allegedly stealing information of U.S. citizens to be used as aliases and to provide it with the hired by foreign IT workers who would look for work in US companies.

OFAC also enhances Russian national Gayk Asatryan for allegedly using its companies to use dozens of North Korean workers under a long-term agreement that he signed with North Korean trading firms starting in 2024.

A growing number of deceptive tech workers in contact with North Korea, officially the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), has become expanding their infiltration operationsIn an April report from Google that the infrastructure for schemes has been found worldwide.

“The Treasury remains focused on using all available tools to interrupt Kim regime’s efforts to avoid penalties by stealing digital property, attempting to pretend Americans, and malicious cyber attacks,” Treasury Deputy Secretary Michael Faulkender said.

Thousands of IT workers target wealthy countries to fund the missile program

OFAC said North Korea aims to generate revenue for ballistic missile programs by deploying a thousands of powerful workers of IT workers around the world, most of which can be found in China and Russia.

Workers are primarily targeting employers found in wealthy countries and using a variety of major networking platforms and specific industries, OFAC said.
